Additional Information

Blue Osa is a low-impact beachfront eco-hotel. Blue Osa works rigorously to reduce their carbon footprint and impact on the surrounding environment. Please do not bring blow dryers, curling irons or flat irons to help conserve electricity. Each of our rooms is equipped with a ceiling fan. The architectural design of Blue Osa allows for the constant flow of air through screen walls, creating a fresh and breezy environment. To help some of the guests adjust to this tropical environment, four of the rooms offer air conditioning – and are available on a first-come, first-served basis for an additional expense, selected at time of booking.

For the other rooms that do not offer AC, we have found that the vast majority of guests are always quite comfortable.

Wi-fi is available for free in the lobby.

Visit the Welcome Page on Blue Osa’s website by clicking here. It provides a great amount of  detail and will likely answer every question you may have about what to pack, how to get there, and  everything in between. Read through all of it thoroughly, especially the transportation section before  booking your air travel.

We will need you to send us all of your flight information by no later than March 15, 2024 via the Google Form we will be sending you.

When booking your flight from San Jose to Puerto Jimenez, Blue Osa recommends going through their travel desk, Blue Osa travels, to plan your trip easily and worry free. They can assist you with flights, any additional hotel accommodations and excursions. Cancellations/Refunds

All requests for cancellation must be submitted in writing to tiffany@tiffanycagwin.com. The following  outlines the cancellation policy. Because of the nature of group bookings and the contract we are obligated to, our cancellation/refund policy is firm:

• $600 deposit is non-refundable

• No refunds given for cancellations on or after January 6, 2024

If the participant arrives late to retreat or leaves prior to its conclusion, refunds will not be made for any  unused portion of the retreat. No refunds will be made for meals, yoga classes or other activities that the  participant misses or decides not to participate in for any reason.

Travel Insurance

It is commonly recommended for travelers to purchase travel insurance. It is not required, we are just offering the recommendation for you to decide.

Extended Travel

The yoga retreat officially begins on April 6, 2024. We recommend that you add an extra 1-2 days on  the front end of your travel if you are able to. This can help alleviate stress if there are travel delays. Many of our participants in past years enjoyed being able to explore Costa Rica on their own for a few days before arriving at Blue Osa. Blue Osa also can accommodate you for an early arrival pending availability. Please work with Blue Osa Travels to help you plan a fun, stress free itinerary.

Passport

A passport is required to enter Costa Rica. Each participant is responsible for determining their specific  passport requirements and obtaining the necessary documents prior to departure. Please check your passport to make sure you have at least 6 months validity from the time you enter Costa Rica. If it expires within 6 months of the trip, you should get your passport renewed before you come to Blue Osa. The process  for obtaining a new passport can take 4-6 weeks.

Additionally, as a note from our own personal experience, we have found that it is WELL worth it to apply for Global Entry when traveling internationally. It saves so much time and headache when going through customs upon returning to the US from any international destination, as well as automatically qualifies you for TSA Pre-check for all travel (domestic and international).
